about

Nicole Scarpa is a contemporary Italian ceramic artist based in Mallorca.

Her practice is rooted in an intimate and intuitive relationship with clay, a material she approaches as both witness and collaborator. Through hand-built sculpture, Nicole investigates how emotional memory can inhabit matter, working through repetition and instinct.

The forms that emerge are organic, restless and quietly alive.

Slowness is not a method but a value, a deliberate choice that runs through her work as it does through her life. In a world that accelerates, her practice insists on time as a necessary condition for depth, for listening and for form to reveal itself.

She came to ceramics in 2021, drawn to the island's quiet creative energy. In 2023 she deepened her technical foundation at the Corrie Bain International School of Ceramics in Barcelona, where hand-building became her language.

She has since developed an independent practice in Mallorca, working alongside artists and studios on the island.
